I Used to Hate AI (Then Something Changed My Mind)

Should you rush to launch, or wait and build it right?

Wait, almost always. Being first to market is wildly overrated when the thing you ship is half-baked. The businesses that win are usually the ones that resist the pressure to launch something just because everyone else is, hold their nerve, and build what their market actually needs, even if someone else grabs the "first mover" headlines.

I was that guy about AI

For the longest time, I was THAT guy about AI. I rolled my eyes so hard at every "REVOLUTIONARY AI BREAKTHROUGH" announcement that I probably developed new eye muscles. Every time someone mentioned AI I would cringe, like watching someone put pineapple on pizza.

And do not get me started on the "gurus" who became AI experts overnight. Amazing how many people apparently had PhDs in machine learning hidden in their desk drawers.

I had my reasons. Most of these game-changing AI tools were about as revolutionary as a square wheel: promising the world, delivering a fancy Magic 8 Ball with better marketing.

The problem was not AI. It was the rush.

Here is what actually bothered me. People were shipping half-baked AI solutions purely so they could say they had one. The tool did not need to work. It just needed to exist before the competition's did.

That is the trap. When a new technology or trend appears, the loudest incentive is to be first, to plant a flag and claim the territory. But first and good are not the same thing, and customers only ever remember which one you were.

What waiting actually bought us

While everyone else raced to be first, we focused on being right.

And a funny thing happened. As the hype train steamed ahead, we started getting more and more requests from our own customers. Not for the "AI will run your whole business" nonsense, but for something specific: a tool that could genuinely help them create funny, high-converting ads without a degree in prompt engineering. So we built it. Quietly. Methodically. Only once it could actually deliver.

The lesson has nothing to do with AI

Strip away the technology and the real lesson is about timing.

Knowing when to resist the pressure to launch something half-baked, and when to step up and build something your market truly needs, is one of the most valuable instincts in business. Sometimes the smartest move is to let others claim first-mover advantage while you quietly perfect the thing that is actually worth moving to.

Meet Brian

The tool we were quietly building became Brian, our AI Comedy Marketing Machine, and we only put his name to it once he could genuinely deliver.

Brian helps you create funny, high-converting ad creatives in minutes, built on the exact frameworks our own writers use, rather than the half-baked "write like this" approach most AI tools ship with.

Take Brian for a spin and see what waiting for the right tool actually gets you.
